New project! SILVERQUEST Adventures!

Hello again!

I wanted to talk a little about my newest art project, which happens to be a webcomic series in strip format, based on the online roleplaying game (oRPG), SILVERQUEST. I'm one of the developers of SILVERQUEST, and this webcomic is part of the strategy to promote the game in the near future.

The comic is titled SILVERQUEST Adventures. The story begins with a new adventurer, a girl, who wants to become a Blue Wizard. In the world of SILVERQUEST, there are three main classes: Red Warrior, Green Thief, and Blue Wizard. In this girl's adventures, she'll encounter other adventurers like her, and embark on a journey very similar to that which the players of the actual game may choose to experience.

So, in a way, this comic helps you in understanding the game's world from a different perspective: through fiction. Many of the NPC's you encounter in the game will make their appearances. Even certain players may have their spotlight here. The story is not fully written, and in a way, it's kinda random. I haven't planned but a few parts of the story, since it'll evolve as the game evolves.

The update schedule for this comic is not decided, but I am going to hope I can make at least one strip per week.

When the first strip is finished, I'll let you know.

Thanks for reading!

Long time, eh...?

Hello there!

I've been away again, I know. :( Guess it takes having a good mood to post consistently, and lately my life has been kinda messy. But the news is that I actually have some art to show.

Now, where to start?

The majority is digital art, and these are only a few pieces. Like about three sketches. And the many I haven't chosen to publish online because I don't like them.

Because I'm a bit lazy right now, I'll leave a link to my deviantArt and SheezyArt galleries for now.

Arwym @ dA
Arwym @ SA

And I have to go to my ElfWood account and update it, because I have it abandoned since around 2006. o_o

They're nothing impressive, but art is art, and those are my current skills, so I gotta be honest with myself.

Um... What else... Oh, right! Scrapbooking. I had my first two lessons already, and made three pages already. Unfortunately, though, I haven't bought the materials or printed any photos to add to them. So all I can show is pictures of the pages, without photos. I'll have to do that soon.

By the way, remember I said that I finally got a new printer/scanner? Well, it stopped working after a few weeks... So I'm again without one. And I assure you, this is the last Lexmark product I buy! -_-

I'll post more later tonight, but I gotta go now. See you!

Absence justified - Tasks - Scrapbooking lesson~!

I know I promised to myself to update this blog, and I have failed up till now.  I want to apologize for that.

I've been really busy, though.  Even for the Make-It-Mondays I wanted to participate in.  I just can't.  My mind is somewhere else.

For example, I have a few ATC's to make yet, and two entire websites/networks to design and develop within the next weeks.  I haven't even started.  One of the networks is my own, which has been on hiatus since around August 2008.  The other network is my friend Kan Gao's new game studio's official website: Freebird Games.  That one is a gift I promised to him.  And I've been meaning to do it for like over a year now.  I feel bad about that.  I really want to do this, though.

... And add to that, the work I've been doing on SilverQuest lately.  I have to finish the new town, with all the quests, NPC's, items and other features that come with it, before mid-April.  The goal was April 4th, but I won't make it.  Too much work to be done at the university.  That's the most important work I got right now, actually.  Three exams and a presentation this week.  Talk about crazy for me!

Either way, expect me to update more once I'm done with the mess.  :)  And sorry for ranting.  I sometimes do that, yeah.  :P

On positive news!  I may be attending to a Scrapbooking class today!  It's just one session, for beginners.  Materials included.  I'm excited about it!  I always wanted to learn scrapbooking, but due to not having money for materials, and to the time I dedicate to my countless hobbies and interests, I can't keep my attention fixed on one single thing for too long.  I have to split my time and attention between one thing and the other, all the time.  That's my big problem.  But I'll still try!  You see, I have someone to scrapbook and crochet with now: my stepmother.  And when I have someone with whom to share these experiences, it's more fun, and it draws my attention a lot more.

By the way, I have a follower!  I was really surprised when I saw comments and a new follower here.  I never thought I'd get any, to be honest.  Sometimes I write these posts, thinking that nobody ever reads them.  My blogs rarely get comments, so I got used to that.  But I love comments, and I love to know that there are other people out there, following me.  Thank you!

Well, time to get ready for the day!  See you next time.  :)

And happy crafting!

Make It Mondays - Feb. 2 - Pink

I've decided to participate in GoMakeSomething.com's Make It Mondays challenge, so here's my first one!

I don't know if this is acceptable, but still, here goes my explanation:
So what does pink have to do with this one, apart from the dress?  Well, I was searching for meanings of the color pink, and found that when you give someone a pink carnation, it means "Don't forget me," or something like that.  So I didn't draw a carnation, but I tried to draw a lady in a dress that represents the carnation.  And she's thinking of her loved one, who is now gone.  It's a promise to never forget that person.  :)

The blog stays here!

I've decided to keep this blog as part of Arwym Art, an upcoming branch website of Arwym's Domain.  Arwym Art will concentrate on content related to my art and creative projects.

Saturday, January 31, 2009

I don't really know whether I should keep my art/crafting blog in here, or move it to my domain, arwym.com .  I think that the latter is the best choice, for the freedom I have, but there's a disadvantage there: I would be separated from any community.  No Vox, no Livejournal, no Blogger.  The only way to bring visitors to this blog is to promote it directly, in my forum signatures, social profiles, etc.

Once I make a decision, I'll post an entry here about it.   But I think I already know what I'll do.

Sorry for not updating, but I haven't really been crafting enough like to talk about it.

Just know that I am no longer a graphic arts student.  I'm studying Web Technologies.

Hello there, readers. :)

Maybe you're wondering, where I have been. Well... I haven't been doing much crafting lately, except for some more crochetting. But since I lost my precious camera, I can't take any pictures until I get a new one.

Meanwhile, you can take a look at my other places, especially at my main blog, which is http://arwym.com/main

Enjoy!
